Higher Living Healthcare Training School’s Home Care Aide (HCA) to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Bridge Program prepares eligible students who have completed Washington HCA training or hold a current HCA credential to advance toward Nursing Assistant/CNA preparation. The program is delivered in a hybrid/blended format using Washington ReadyCNA online didactic coursework, instructor support, in-person skills lab practice, supervised clinical training, and state exam preparation.

Students complete nursing assistant theory, knowledge checks, reading/review assignments, reflective learning activities, hands-on skills practice, clinical preparation, supervised clinical care, final review, and remediation as needed. The program covers Washington nursing assistant competencies including resident rights, communication, infection control, safety, basic nursing skills, restorative care, personal care, mental health and social service needs, cognitive impairment, life transitions, documentation, professionalism, and test preparation.

The program includes 116 total clock hours: 43 hours of theory, 33 hours of skills lab, and 40 hours of clinical training. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion and are prepared to pursue the Washington Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC/CNA) state examination process.
