Includes the use of diagnostic equipment such as current industry engine analyzers, lab scopes, scanners, multi-gas analyzers and various meters and sensor testers. Study of the principles of refrigeration, and the heating and air conditioning systems currently used by the automotive industry including manual, semiautomatic, and automatic systems. Includes details of the electrical control circuits for the compressor, blower, and coolant fan(s). The description, purpose and function of air conditioning system components are explained, and service and repair procedures will be presented and practiced by the students. Safety procedures for handling R-12 and 134-A are discussed.
