This degree is designed for persons planning to enter the engineering profession at the technician level. The program is designed with input from a local engineering advisory board in order to best meet the needs of community employers. Technicians at YVC learn specialized skills that include plan-reading, surveying, computer drafting, materials testing, estimating, scheduling, and using engineering design software. Promising careers exist with municipal, state, and federal agencies, engineering and construction firms, public utilities, and local manufacturers.
