This degree is built upon the technical courses required for job preparation, but also includes a college-level general education component. This is consistent with the dual purpose of transfer and preparation for direct employment. These programs provide the knowledge and understanding in areas such as double-entry principles, cash and accrual systems, financial statement, partnerships and corporations, valuations, depreciation, taxes, payroll, computer based accounting, and governmental and non-profit accounting.
