Certificate covers material needed to sit for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Fitness Trainer Exam (or other); and for a variety of employment opportunities in health and fitness including Exercise Specialist, Fitness Director, Athletic Performance Coach, or community center instructor. Students may also apply certificate credits toward transfer for enrollment in a four-year university Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or Physical Education Teaching Certificate Program. Other certifications this may prepare students for include ACSM American College of Sports Medicine, NSCA National Strength and Conditioning Association, and ACE American Council of Exercise.
