Modern Languages

Spokane Falls Community College ETPL
In today's globally connected world, employers seek professionals who have the international perspective, knowledge and skills to reach across borders, cultures and languages. A degree in a modern language can prepare you to meet this demand. In this program, you'll develop your critical thinking skills, intercultural understanding and global awareness through the study of the French, Japanese or Spanish language, literature and culture. The program includes opportunities to study abroad in France or Spain, join language clubs and to participate in an international film festival. You could also earn a Seal of Bilingual Literacy (SBL) in French and Spanish language and culture. This seal indicates that you have the skills to communicate in your selected language with confidence in both written and oral forms. Whether you want to work in the U.S. or abroad, this program can help you become more competitive in the job market, regardless of your career path.
