The Washington Veterans to Technology program (WaV2T or WaVets2Tech) is a set of computer science certificates designed to provide computer science and informational technology education to both active duty service members transitioning out of the military, Armed Forces Veterans, their spouses, and other interested students. The program also serves as a bridge for Americas Veterans from a military career to the technology field. It builds on an earlier program that was offered in partnership with the Microsoft Corporation (MSSA). Each path option in the WaV2T consists of at least 18 credit hours and awards the Certificate in Computer Science, with significant additional co-curricular content.Primary path options consist of cybersecurity; server and cloud administration; and cloud application development. For students who complete a primary path option certificate, a second advanced certificate in IT Operations with internship may also be taken. Due to the nature of this program, students must complete all primary path certificate requirements with their cohort; no transfer credit is accepted toward fulfillment of the 18-credit hour requirement for the primary path certificates. Up to six credits, either double counted from a primary certificate or transferred, may be applied towards the advanced certificate in IT Operations.
