The Application & Desktop Support Specialist Certificate of Achievement exposes students to the skills used in entry-level positions of technical support. Technical support duties include the daily operation and support of computing across local area networks, application-level technical assistance to end-users and creation of written documentation. Technical classes in the certificate map to industry-standard certification tests including: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ and a portion of the Cisco CCNA. Job titles include IT Specialist, Desktop Support Specialist, Computer Technician, Computer Support Specialist, Help Desk Analyst, Technical Support Specialist, and Computer Specialist. A portion of this certificate can stack into the Associate of Arts-Transfer of Information Technology and BAS in Cybersecurity.
