The Phlebotomy for Healthcare Professionals Certificate of Recognition program is designed for working healthcare professionals. The program offers a combination of online and evening in-person coursework. Upon completion of the Phlebotomy for Healthcare Professionals Program, students are eligible to take the for the national certification exam and fulfill the State of Washington Department of Health certification requirements for becoming a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy (MA-P).

Prerequisite courses and other requirements

Admission to the phlebotomy program is dependent upon meeting prerequisites and/or transcript review for students and/or validation of licensure for current practitioners. Qualified practitioners include current unencumbered licensed Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, or Registered Nurse in the state of Washington, Airforce Medics (4NOX1, skill level 5), or Navy Corpsmen (HM000, Rank: HM3, E-4 and above). Or with instructor permission.
